Car Accident With Injuries at the Lake Deaton Plaza in Leesburg, Florida
LEESBURG, FL – According to an online news report at villages-news.com, three women were taken to an area hospital after an accident that occurred at the Lake Deaton Plaza in the Villages.*
A fifty five year old woman from Ocala, Florida was behind the wheel of a 2013 Hyundai Elantra around 12:00 p.m. when she tried to make a left turn to go east on Florida State Road 44, according to a report issued by the Florida Highway Patrol. As she was attempting to turn left, she ran through a stop sign and as a result, she came upon the path of a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic operated by a thirty four year old woman from Oxford, Florida. The airbags in both vehicles deployed as a result of the impact of the crash.
All people, including passengers, were transported to a local hospital where they were treated for their injuries. The driver who ran the stop sign was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign. Both vehicles involved in the accident were towed from the scene due to heavy extent of damages.
There are no further details on the accident at this time. The crash remains under investigation by local police.
