Pedestrian Struck and Killed at the 2400 Block of South Church Street in Murfreesboro, TN

MURFREESBORO, TN – According to a local news report at, a pedestrian is dead after being struck while attempting to cross South Church Street, per the Murfreesboro Police Department.*

The pedestrian was struck and killed by a car at the 2400 Block of South Church Street, per the Murfreesboro Police. The man has been identified as being a fifty eight year old from Orlando, Florida.

At around 8:40 p.m., officers responded to the scene of the accident where it was reported that a pedestrian sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle.

According to the preliminary investigation, the man had just left a Pizza Hut restaurant and was trying to go across a multiple lane road in front of the Pilot Travel Center.  In so doing, he was struck and killed by a passenger vehicle.  The man was treated at the scene of the accident by emergency personnel with the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department and the Rutherford County EMS.  He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment where he was later pronounced dead.

It appears that the driver was not at fault for causing the accident however, the investigation is currently underway.  There are no further details on the accident at this time.
