Motorcyclist Killed in Four-Vehicle Crash in Seminole County, Florida
SEMINOLE COUNTY, FL. – According to a news report posted online at wftv.com, a motorcyclist was killed in a four-vehicle crash that took place in Seminole County, Florida. The collision reportedly involved two motorcycles and two cars, and the other motorcyclist was seriously injured in the crash.*
The accident took place shortly after midnight on March 11, 2019 on Interstate 4 in Seminole County. At approximately 12:30 a.m., two eastbound cars collided on I-4 near Lake Mary Boulevard. The cars were not described in the WFTV report, and it is not clear what caused them to crash into each other.
After the impact, the cars traveled into other lanes on the interstate and crashed into two motorcycles. Florida Highway Patrol reported that the two people riding the motorcycles were thrown from the bikes after the crash.
One of the motorcyclists, a woman from Indiana, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, according to WFTV. WFTV also reports that the other motorcyclist, a man from Indiana, was seriously injured in the accident, and emergency responders took him to Central Florida Regional Hospital. His injuries were described as critical in the news report.
The people in the two cars were not identified, and WFTV did not say whether anyone riding in the cars was injured. Florida Highway Patrol stated that charges were pending against the driver who caused the initial collision.
The accident caused the eastbound lanes of I-4 to be shut down from the rest area to Lake Mary Boulevard. The road was not reopened until about 8 a.m. that day. No further information was reported.
