18-Wheeler Truck Strikes Bucket Truck, Ejecting Traffic Signal Worker
Semi-Truck hits Bucket Truck, Ejecting Man who was Repairing a Traffic Signal
According to wsbradio.com, a dashboard camera filmed a semi-truck that knocked over a man who was in a bucket as he was repairing a traffic light over a heavily frequented roadway.*
A witness was going about fifty miles per hour when he saw the truck slam into the bucket truck, which caused the worker therein to be ejected from it. The impact caused the worker to dangle from his safety harness for about thirty seconds before being lowered by other employees.
"You can see they ignored some safety rules,” said the witness, a former news photographer. The road wasn't blocked off. The truck wasn't protecting anybody, but he was smart enough to put on a harness and helmet and that's what saved his life.”
The truck driver did stop after the accident occurred and the witness called 911. The worker was a bit startled but came out of the accident unscathed. "I think he used up all his luck that day, but it was just amazing that he literally walked away from that impact," the witness told news reporters.
