Accident Results in Closure of the Atlanta Downtown Connector

Atlanta, GA – According to, a crash involving multiple vehicles caused the closing of the Atlanta downtown connector on the morning of Monday, March 11, 2019.*

The news media reports that the Atlanta downtown connector was closed on the morning of Monday, March 11, 2019 due to an accident involving multiple vehicles. The roadway has now opened once again. The Georgia Department of Transportation reported that it was a three vehicle accident that occurred close to the University Avenue intersection.  The roadway opened up once again at approximately 5:00 a.m.  It is unknown at this time whether there have been any injuries.  Officials are currently investigating the crash.  There are no further details on the accident at this time.

A multi-vehicle crash forced the closure of the Downtown Connector in Atlanta Monday morning but the roadway has since reopened.
