Woman Injured in Crash Resulting in the Death of Her Unborn Child
Gwinnet County, GA – according to ajc.com, police are investing an accident that left a pregnant woman seriously injured, causing the death of her unborn child.*
A woman is seriously injured in an accident that tragically resulted in the death of her unborn child. Police state that the twenty six year old woman was driving southbound on Buford Highway, driving a Honda Civic. The accident occurred at around 6:00 a.m. this past Saturday. The other driver who was going northbound was a sixty year old male who was operating a Honda Odyssey.
The driver was at the Buford Highway and Amwiler Road intersection, where he tried to make a left turn on a yellow traffic signal. As a result, the woman struck the passenger side of the man’s car.
The twenty six year old woman was in her third trimester of her pregnancy. While being treated at the hospital, the unborn child died. Two of the male’s passengers were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The accident continues to remain under investigation. In fact, both vehicles have been impounded for further analysis. Police note that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in causing the accident. No charges are expected to be filed in this case.
