19-Year-Old Driver Killed in Vehicle Crash in Dania Beach, Florida
DANIA BEACH, FL. – According to an online news story posted at local10.com, a 19-year-old driver was killed in a vehicle crash in Dania Beach, Florida. It appears the accident only involved one vehicle. Authorities have not yet determined what caused the vehicle to crash, and they are still investigating.*
The crash happened early in the morning on Thursday, March 7, on Interstate 95 in Dania Beach. Florida Highway Patrol and Local 10 report that at about 4:30 a.m., a vehicle that had been traveling south on I-95 was involved in a wreck near the area of Griffin Road. Troopers said that a 2015 Honda Civic somehow ran off the interstate and struck a metal pole off of the roadway.
Troopers were not able at the time of the Local 10 report to provide a cause for the accident. The Local 10 report does not state any factors that might have led to the collision or caused the driver of the Honda to travel off the interstate.
The driver of the Honda suffered fatal injuries in the accident, according to Local 10, and Florida Highway Patrol stated that she died at the scene. She was identified by authorities as a 19-year-old woman from North Miami Beach, Florida. It does not appear from the Local 10 report that anyone was riding in the Honda with the victim.
Officials responding to the site of the crash closed down part of Interstate 95 to investigate and clear the scene. It is not clear how long the roadway remained blocked, but the Local 10 report states that traffic was at a standstill that morning.
