The motorcyclist has not been identified, and the events leading to the collision are not entirely settled. The accident is still under investigation by law enforcement.*
The accident happened in the evening on March 6, but the report from WFLA does not indicate what time it occurred. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of an accident involving a motorcycle and multiple other vehicles that night. They arrived at the scene on Highway 92 in Lakeland and found that the motorcycle had hit three passenger vehicles.
It is not clear where on the highway this occurred, as the report from WFLA did not state a mile marker or a cross street for the site of the collision. The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries, and WFLA reports that he or she died at the scene of the accident. The motorcyclist’s name and identifying information were not released in the WFLA report.
