Emergency Crews Respond to Multi-Vehicle Collision in Anderson County, SC
ANDERSON COUNTY, SC – According to a news story posted online at wspa.com, emergency crews responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle collision in Anderson County, South Carolina. Few details about the collision have been released at this time, and it is not clear if anyone sustained injuries in the wreck.*
The collision happened in the evening on March 1st on Interstate 85 in Anderson County. At about 8:20 p.m., several vehicles somehow crashed into each other near mile marker 11 on I-85 North. No information was reported about the vehicles, so it is not clear what types of vehicles were involved in the crash. It is also not clear how many vehicles were involved in the accident.
The Townville Volunteer Fire Department reportedly responded to the scene and posted a message on social media indicating that the wreck involved a vehicle rollover, and that an occupant of that vehicle was trapped inside. It is unclear if this person or anyone else sustained injuries. The report from WSPA did not say whether anyone required medical treatment beyond the scene. No names were released in the report.
Officials closed down the northbound side of I-85 following the accident to allow crews to gather evidence and clear the wreckage from the scene. Motorists in the area at this time were urged to find alternate routes to their destinations and avoid the scene if possible.
