February 21, 2019

SAVANNAH, GA. – According to an online news story published by wtoc.com, four people were injured in a single-vehicle crash in Savannah, Georgia. None of the victims has yet been identified, and investigators have not released information about the cause of the collision.*

The crash occurred in the late morning on February 15 on Truman Parkway in Savannah. At about 11 a.m. that day, a vehicle traveling on Truman Parkway somehow traveled off the roadway and wrecked between the exit to Montgomery Cross Road and the exit to Eisenhower. It is unclear what direction the vehicle was traveling prior to the collision.

Authorities did not provide information about the vehicle in reports, including the vehicle make and model, and they did not indicate why the crash happened. Police have not said whether they suspect any factors to have been involved in the wreck, like speeding, road conditions, or a medical emergency.

Four people were riding inside the vehicle at the time, and all four reportedly sustained injuries in the crash. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time. Emergency responders who arrived at the scene transported the four victims to local hospitals for treatment. No names or current medical statuses have been released.

Lanes on northbound Truman Parkway and southbound Truman Parkway were closed after the collision between Montgomery Cross and Eisenhower. Investigators gathered evidence, and crews cleared the wrecked vehicle. A photo from the scene shows what appears to be an SUV turned on its side in the grass median of the road.

The Traffic Investigation Unit of the Savannah Police Department is still investigating this accident.
