Tractor-Trailer Overturns in Carter County, Tennessee
CARTER COUNTY, TN. – As reported online in a news story published by wjhl.com, a tractor-trailer overturned in Carter County, Tennessee. It is not yet clear how the accident happened or whether anyone sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The driver of the tractor-trailer has not been identified.*
The accident happened in the morning on Saturday, February 16, on Tennessee State Route 67 in Carter County. At approximately 9:15 a.m. that day, a tractor-trailer traveling on State Route 67 somehow overturned in the area of the roadway between U.S. Highway 19 East and First Avenue. It is unclear at this time what direction the tractor-trailer was traveling at the time or what caused the tractor-trailer to turn over and crash.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not identified in reports, and it is not clear if he or she was injured in the accident. Police did not say if the driver was the sole occupant of the truck or whether any passengers were in the truck. Emergency crews responded to the scene, but authorities did not indicate whether anyone required medical transport from the scene.
Following the collision, officials closed down State Route 67 in both directions to allow crews to gather evidence and removed the tractor-trailer from the road. It does not appear that any other vehicles were involved in the accident, but this information was not confirmed. The Tennessee Department of Transportation reported at the road reopened at about 11 a.m. that day, around two hours after the accident.
