February 21, 2019

CULLMAN, AL. – As reported online by waff.com, two vehicle accidents caused traffic delays on Interstate 65 in Cullman, Alabama. Few details have been released about either accident at this time. It is unclear if anyone sustained injuries in either of the wrecks.*

Both crashes occurred in the evening on February 17, and both happened in the northbound lanes of I-65 in Cullman. At approximately 6 p.m., a vehicle collision occurred at mile marker 318 on I-65 North. Reports did not say how many vehicles were involved in this crash or how the accident happened.

No information about the vehicles involved was reported, and no one involved in the crash has been identified. Authorities did not say whether anyone was injured in this accident. The wreck caused all of the northbound lanes of I-65 to close while crews investigated and cleared the wreckage. Drivers were encouraged to avoid this area of the interstate if possible.

About an hour after this accident, another vehicle crash happened on I-65 North. This accident took place at mile marker 312. It is not clear if it was related to the first accident or to delays in traffic associated with the accident. Again, the number of vehicles involved was not reported. It is unclear if anyone was injured in the second accident.

A photo from one of the crashes shows a silver car loaded on a tow truck. The car’s hood is completely crumpled up to the windshield. It is not clear if this car was involved in the first accident or the second. Alabama State Troopers are still investigating and have not released further information.
