Pedestrian Killed in Vehicle Crash in Clayton County, Georgia

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA. – An online news story from reports that a pedestrian was killed in a vehicle crash in Clayton County, Georgia. Few details about the accident have been reported at this time. Neither the victim nor the driver of the vehicle has been identified.* 

The accident happened sometime on February 10 or February 11. Reports said the accident happened “overnight,” but it is not clear exactly when. It appears an SUV hit a pedestrian in the area of Garden Walk Boulevard and Riverdale Road in Clayton County. The make and model of the SUV involved were not provided.

Reports stated that crosswalks were near the intersection, but it is not clear if the pedestrian was walking inside a crosswalk when the accident occurred. Authorities called to the scene did not release any information about the cause of the accident or the events leading up to the accident. They did not report on whether the vehicle driver was at fault.

The pedestrian sustained critical injuries in the collision. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene. He has been identified as a 25-year-old man, but his name and area of residence have not been released at this time. It is unclear if authorities have been able to reach next-of-kin to notify them about the accident.

The vehicle driver was not identified, and no description of the driver was reported. It does not appear the driver was injured. Reports did not say whether any passengers were in the SUV at the time of the collision. 

Georgia authorities are still investigating the accident, and they have not reported further information about their investigation to the public. Additional details will be released at a later time.
