Vehicle Breaks in Half During Fatal Crash in Northeast Miami-Dade, Florida
NORTHEAST MIAMI-DADE, FL. – A vehicle broke in half during a fatal crash in Northeast Miami-Dade, Florida, according to a news story published online by wsvn.com. The circumstances of the crash, which involved two vehicles, are not entirely clear. One driver was killed, and the other was injured.*
The accident happened in the late afternoon on February 9. At approximately 3:50 p.m. that day, a Dodge Challenger was traveling east on Ives Dairy Road. At the intersection with Northeast 10th, a Ford F-150 that was traveling west on Ives Dairy Road attempted to turn left. The F-150 then crashed into Challenger.
The collision’s impact sent the Challenger flying into a utility pole, and the vehicle severed in half. The truck was left with extensive damage to the front end, while the Challenger was unrecognizable.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced the driver of the Challenger deceased. His or her name has not yet been released by officials. It does not appear that any passengers were in the Challenger when the accident happened.
The driver of the F-150 was injured in the crash, and crews transported him or her to a local hospital. This driver’s injuries were reportedly minor. Officials have also not released his or her name. Reports did not indicate that any passengers were in the F-150.
Florida Highway Patrol responded to the accident, and Troopers are still conducting an accident investigation. They have not yet determined fault and have not announced any charges. No further information has been reported about the collision at this time.
