Highway Patrol Investigating Fatal Car Accident in Miami, Florida

MIAMI, FL. – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal car accident that occurred February 3 in Miami, Florida, according to a news story reported online by Two vehicles were involved in the crash, and a fire ignited after the collision. The cause of the accident has not been determined.* 

The accident occurred on the afternoon of February 3, though it is not clear exactly what time. Two vehicles somehow collided on Interstate 595 in Davie, Florida. A description was not reported for either vehicle. It is not clear where on the interstate the crash happened, as no mile marker or exit number was reported. It is also not clear how the crash took place. 

No information was provided in reports regarding nature of the collision or the circumstances leading to the collision. Troopers have not identified any information they might be investigating in respect to the crash’s cause. 

After impact, at least one of the vehicles caught on fire. Davie Fire Rescue responded to the scene to extinguish the fire and assist in emergency response. Officials reported that one person died in the collision. This person has not been identified. Authorities did not say whether anyone else was injured in the accident. The number of people in each vehicle at the time of the accident is not known. 

The wreck caused all lanes of I-595 to shut down while crews put out the fire and cleared the scene. Florida Highway Patrol is still in the process of investigating the case, and Troopers have not yet released additional information to the public.
