Charges Pending Against Driver Who Crashed into MARTA Bus in Atlanta, Georgia

ATLANTA, GA. – As reported online in a news story published to, charges are pending against a driver who crashed his car into a MARTA bus in Atlanta, Georgia. The driver has not been identified at this time. Five people were injured in the accident, including four passengers on the bus.*

The crash occurred in the evening on Joseph E. Boone Boulevard in Atlanta. At about 6:20 p.m., a vehicle traveling on Joseph E. Boone Boulevard attempted to pass slowed traffic by driving in the opposite lane of travel. The vehicle went into oncoming traffic and crashed into a MARTA bus that was traveling in the direction opposite of the car. 

The make and model of the car were not reported. It is not clear where on Joseph E. Boone Boulevard the collision occurred, as no cross street was reported. 

Four people who were on board the MARTA bus sustained injuries. The nature of their injuries is not known. It is not clear if these people were transported away from the scene for medical treatment. Reports did not say whether the bus driver was among the injured. No one from the bus has been identified. 

One person in the car was also injured. It is not clear if this person was the driver or a passenger. Reports did not indicate how many people were riding in the car at the time of the crash. The injured person’s current medical condition has not been reported. 

The driver of the car has not been identified at this time, but authorities have indicated that charges are pending against him or her in connection with the wreck. No additional information about the accident is available.
