Vehicle Crash on I-285 in Atlanta, Georgia, Kills One, Injures Two

ATLANTA, GA. – According to an online news story reported by, a vehicle crash on Interstate 285 in Atlanta, Georgia, killed one person and injured two others. The victims have not been identified at this time, and it is not clear how the crash occurred.* 

The crash happened in the early morning on I-285 in the Atlanta metro area. At about 3:30 a.m., a car crash somehow occurred on northbound I-285 and Bolton Road. It is not clear how many vehicles were involved, and no information about the involved vehicles was reported. After impact, at least one of the vehicles caught on fire. 

Reports indicate one person was killed in the accident, and two people were injured. It is not clear if the deceased victim died at the scene or at a hospital after the accident. This person has been identified only as a male. His name, age, and city of residence have not been reported. 

The two injured persons have also not been identified. It is not clear if they required emergency transport away from the scene. Their current medical conditions have not been reported. 

Following the wreck, all lanes on I-285 North were closed down to allow crews to extinguish the fire, investigate, and clear the scene. Traffic became backed up during this time, and drivers were diverted from the interstate onto Donald Lee Hollowell. It is not clear how long the interstate remained shut down. 

Authorities are still in the process of investigating the wreck and vehicle fire, and they have not provided further information to the media. The cause of the accident has not been determined at this time.
