Pedestrian Killed in Traffic Collision in Decatur County, Georgia
DECATUR COUNTY, GA. – According to an online news story reported by walb.com, a pedestrian was struck and killed in a traffic collision in Decatur County, Georgia. The cause of the accident is not clear at this time. Officials have released the name of the victim to the media.*
The incident occurred on Highway 97 in Decatur County. At approximately 9:30 p.m., a pedestrian was walking on Highway 97 and was struck by a passing southbound vehicle. The accident happened near the area of Bainbridge, Georgia, and Johnson’s Personal Care Home.
It is not clear if the pedestrian was walking in a lane of travel or was attempting to cross the highway at the time of the collision. The make and model of the vehicle were not reported, and authorities did not report on the cause of the accident or any factors that might have led to the crash.
