Five People Injured in Single-Vehicle Wreck in Dawson County, Georgia
DAWSON COUNTY, GA. – Five people were injured in a single-vehicle wreck in Dawson County, Georgia, according to a news story reported online at dawsonnews.com. Georgia State Patrol Troopers are in the process of investigating the cause of the wreck at this time.*
Emergency responders arrived at the scene of a vehicle crash at the address of 8617 Highway 136 West in Dawson County. Dawson County Emergency Services Chief Danny Thompson said crews arrived at the scene around 2:45 p.m. that day to find that one vehicle had crashed.
It appeared from the scene that the vehicle had somehow run off the roadway and crashed down an embankment on Highway 136. The make and model of the vehicle were not reported. Authorities have not yet determined what caused the driver of the vehicle to veer from the road and wreck. No potential explanations have been provided.
Five people were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, and all five were injured when emergency responders got to the scene. They were all taken to area hospitals for treatment. It is not clear how many of the injured persons were transported via ambulance. EMS responded to the scene, as did a medical helicopter.
No one involved in the accident has been identified. Medical conditions have not been reported at this time. Thompson said he was proud of the rescue efforts from emergency services and the Dawson County Sheriff’s office. He added that personnel were keeping the victims in their thoughts and prayers.
