RICHMOND COUNTY, GA. – According to an online news story reported at augustachronicle.com, a Georgia pedestrian was hit by a Richmond County Sheriff’s deputy on January 30. The pedestrian was cited in connection with the accident, and he is recovering from his injuries after being admitted to the hospital.*

The accident occurred in the early morning on January 30 on Tobacco Road in Augusta, Georgia. At approximately 12:40 a.m., a pedestrian was attempting to cross Tobacco Road. At the same time, a Richmond County Sheriff’s deputy was traveling east on Tobacco Road. The deputy then struck the pedestrian near the intersection with Spanish Trace.
