Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Wreck in Catoosa County, Georgia

CATOOSA COUNTY, GA. – According to an online news story published at, a man died January 29 in a single-vehicle wreck in Catoosa County, Georgia. The cause of the accident, which occurred on Interstate 75, is still being investigated. Officials have released that name of the victim.* 

The accident happened on the morning of January 29 on Interstate 75 in Catoosa County. At about 7 a.m., a vehicle traveling south on I-75 somehow crashed. No information was reported about how the vehicle crashed or what caused the vehicle to crash. The make and model of the vehicle were also not reported. It is not clear what the vehicle crashed into, but after the impact, the vehicle caught on fire. 

The driver of the vehicle was seriously injured, and emergency crews transported him to a local hospital for treatment. He did not survive his injuries, and officials pronounced him deceased at the hospital. He has been identified as 66-year-old Richard Bryant, of Hixson, Georgia. 

It does not appear that any other vehicles were involved in the collision, and authorities did not report about any passengers in the vehicle with Bryant or any other injuries that resulted from the accident. Emergency agencies responded to the scene to investigate and put out the fire. It is not clear if the accident caused some or all of the southbound lanes to close on the interstate. 

Georgia State Patrol is handling the investigation of this crash, and Troopers have not released any other details about the circumstances of the accident. No further information is available at this time.
