THOMASVILLE, GA. – One person was killed, and another person was injured January 29 in a vehicle wreck in Thomasville, Georgia, according to an online news story reported at wctv.com. The cause of the crash is still unclear, and officials have not released the name of either victim at this time.*

The crash happened on the morning of January 29 on U.S. Highway 319 in Thomasville. At approximately 7:45 a.m., a sedan and a truck were traveling north on U.S. 319 and somehow collided near the area of Mercy Street Road.

Georgia State Patrol says it appears that the sedan crashed into the truck, but this information has not been confirmed. It is not clear what caused the crash, and no potential factors leading to the crash have been reported.

After impact, both drivers lost control, and the vehicles moved in opposite directions. The sedan ran off the left side of the highway, and the truck traveled off the right side of the highway. The truck then crashed into a tree.

The driver of the truck suffered fatal injuries, and officials pronounced him dead at the scene. He has been identified only as a 19-year-old male. His name and city of residence have not been released. Georgia State Patrol indicated that the victim’s family members still needed to be notified of the wreck.

The driver of the sedan was injured in the crash, and emergency responders transported her to a local hospital for treatment. Officials have only said that this driver is a female, and they have not released her age, name, or city of residence. She is reportedly in stable condition. It is not clear if she will be cited or charged in connection with the accident.
