ALPHARETTA, GA. – Police in Alpharetta, Georgia, are looking for witnesses to a January 28 hit-and-run pedestrian crash, according to an online news story reported at ajc.com. Officers have apprehended the driver, but they are still trying to gather more information about the events of the collision.*

The incident occurred in the morning on January 28, on Milton Avenue in Alpharetta. At approximately 7:15 a.m., a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the roadway near Milton High School. It is not clear if the pedestrian was walking in a lane of travel or was trying to cross the road. The driver of the vehicle did not stop but continued west on Milton Avenue.

The pedestrian, who has not been identified, sustained a leg injury, and emergency crews took him or her to a local hospital. Officers located the missing driver and arrested him or her. This person has not been identified, and the charges against him or her have not been reported.

Despite arresting a suspect in the collision, police would still like to hear from witnesses. The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety posted a message on social media the day of the collision, saying, “Today at about 7:15 a.m., a pedestrian was struck on Milton Avenue in front of the Old Milton High School. The vehicle then fled the scene westbound on Milton Avenue. If you witnessed this accident please contact Officer Bice at [email protected]”

In response to someone asking for the make and model of the vehicle, the Department said, “Since the vehicle has been located and we do not want to taint any witnesses, we are withholding that information at this time. However, the investigator is still looking for witnesses.”
