Road Rage Incident in Massachusetts Ends in Man Hanging onto Moving Vehicle

January 29, 2019

WESTON, MA. – According to an online news story reported at wsbradio.com, a road rage incident January 25 in Weston, Massachusetts, ended with a man hanging onto the hood of a moving vehicle on a highway. The man was reportedly not seriously injured, and both he and the other driver have been charged in connection with the incident.*

Sometime on January 25, a 2016 Infiniti QX70 reportedly sideswiped a truck (make and model not reported) on the Mass Pike in Weston. The events that followed are not exactly clear, but it appears both drivers stopped and got into an argument. The driver of the truck, 65-year-old Richard Kamrowski, of Framingham, Massachusetts, then somehow ended up on the hood of the Infiniti.

It is not clear if Kamrowski climbed onto the hood himself or if the driver of the Infiniti, 37-year-old Mr. Fitzgerald, of Lynn, Massachusetts, ran into him. Fitzgerald then started to drive, reaching 70 mph, with Kamrowski hanging onto the hood of the vehicle. This continued for more than three miles.

“I thought he was going to run over me,” Kamrowski said. “I don’t know, I don’t think he stopped. He just kept going fast then slow, fast then slow, trying to get me to slide off, and I wasn’t getting off the car.”

Police said Fitzgerald finally stopped, possibly because other motorists intervened in the situation, and Kamrowski was not seriously injured. Fitzgerald has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, negligent driving, and leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage. Kamrowski has been charged with disorderly conduct.
