KERSHAW COUNTY, SC. – A woman was killed January 24 in a single-car accident in Kershaw County, South Carolina, according to an online news story published at wach.com. The victim has been identified, but the cause of the accident has not yet been determined. Authorities are still investigating the crash.*

The accident occurred on the morning of January 24, but reports did not indicate what time. A vehicle traveling south on Longtown Road in Kershaw County somehow left the roadway. The make and model of the vehicle were not included in reports, and it is not clear where on the road this occurred. Reports say the incident occurred near Lugoff, South Carolina.

Upon traveling off the road, the driver of the vehicle overcorrected, re-entered the road, and then left the opposite side of the road. The vehicle then struck a bank and began rolling. It flipped multiple times before finally coming to a rest.

The driver of the vehicle was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to authorities, but she was thrown into the back seat of the vehicle during the wreck. She suffered severe injuries and did not survive. Officials pronounced her deceased at the scene. The Kershaw County Coroner’s Office has identified her as 40-year-old Tiffany Kaye McNeely. McNeely’s city of residence was not reported.

South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the scene, and Troopers are still in the process of investigating the wreck. They have not yet determined why McNeely initially left the roadway. No further information is available at this time.
