One Person Ejected During Three-Vehicle Wreck in Clayton County, Georgia
CLAYTON COUNTY, GA. – One person was ejected from a vehicle during a three-vehicle wreck on Interstate 75 in Clayton County, Georgia, according to an online news report from ajc.com. Several other people were injured during the wreck, which occurred on January 23. The victims have not been identified at this time.*
The crash occurred in the late evening on January 23 on I-75 in the metro area of Atlanta. A heavy rainstorm was underway at the time, and road conditions were wet. At about 11 p.m., three vehicles somehow collided on southbound I-75, near Fielder Road in Clayton County.
The makes and models of the vehicles were not reported, and authorities did not provide any information about the cause of the accident or the circumstances surrounding the accident. It is not yet clear if the weather played a role in the wreck.
One person was ejected from one of the vehicles, and numerous other people were injured. Police did not say whether the person who was ejected was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Reports did not indicate whether the injured victims required emergency medical transport. As of the next morning (January 24), police did not have updates on their medical conditions. No names have been released.
All of the southbound lanes on I-75 were closed following the wreck to allow crews to investigate and clear the scene. The lanes did not reopen until about two hours after the crash, which was around 1 a.m. on January 24. The accident is still under investigation.
