Student, School Bus Driver Injured in Crash in Brentwood, Tennessee
BRENTWOOD, TN. – A student and a school bus driver were injured January 22 in a crash in Brentwood, Tennessee, according to an online news report from wsmv.com. The student and the driver have not been identified, and authorities are not yet sure how the crash happened.*
On the afternoon of January 22, a school bus was carrying students from Ravenwood High School on Wilson Pike in Brentwood. It appears that seven students were on the bus at the time. Authorities are not yet sure about what occurred next, but they think the driver of the school bus might have experienced a medical emergency. At the intersection with Crockett Road, the bus collided with an SUV and ran off the road.
Photos from the scene show the bus in a ditch off of the roadway and an SUV sitting in the roadway with extensive damage to the front end. The bus has damage to the right side.
One unidentified student was injured in the crash, according to the Brentwood Police Department, and he or she was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The student’s injuries are reportedly minor.
The bus driver, who has also not been identified, was injured, as well. Emergency crews took the driver to a hospital for treatment, and his or her current condition is not known. Police said the driver of the SUV was not injured.
The Brentwood Police Department is still in the process of investigating this accident, and officers have not yet released additional information.
