Head-On Crash in Waterloo, Alabama, Kills One, Injures Four

WATERLOO, AL. – As reported online by a news story published to timesdaily.com, a head-on crash January 20 killed one person and injured four others in Waterloo, Alabama. No information has yet been released about the cause of the accident, and only two people involved have been identified.* 

The crash occurred on the afternoon of January 20, but reports did not indicate what time. Two vehicles somehow collided head-on in Waterloo, according to the Quad-Cities State Troopers Post. It is not clear where in Waterloo the crash occurred, and no information was provided about the cause of the crash. Troopers did not indicate any potential factors they suspect contributed to the crash. The makes and models of the vehicles were not reported.

One of the vehicle drivers suffered fatal injuries, and the Lauderdale County Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene. Officials have identified him as 83-year-old John Gilbert Parrish, of Waterloo. 

One passenger in the vehicle with Parrish, described in reports as his wife, was injured in the crash. The extent of her injuries and her current medical condition are not known. It is not clear if she was transported anywhere for medical treatment. Her name has not been released. 

Three passengers in the other vehicle were also injured. They have not been identified, and the nature of their injuries was not reported. One person was reportedly flown from the scene to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, but it is not clear which vehicle this person was riding in at the time of the accident. 

The driver of the second vehicle was apparently not injured. He has been identified by officials as 18-year-old Kade Harris, of Waterloo.
