January 19, 2019

WOODSTOCK, GA. – Two people were injured January 15 in a head-on vehicle crash in Woodstock, Georgia, according to a news report online at One of the injured people was a 13-year-old boy. The cause of the accident is not completely clear.*

The crash occurred in the early morning hours of January 15 on Trickum Road in Woodstock. At about 6:25 a.m., a car (make and model not reported) was traveling north on Trickum Road. At the area of Gunnin Road, the car crossed into the southbound lane of the road and collided head-on with an SUV (make and model not reported).

The cause of the accident is not confirmed, but police believe the driver of the car was attempting to pass another northbound vehicle and entered the southbound lane in a no-passing zone. Before the car could complete the pass, it crashed into the SUV. It is not clear if the car’s driver was able to see the SUV before the crash.

The driver of the SUV and a passenger in the SUV were injured, and emergency crews transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment. Reports indicate the passenger was a 13-year-old boy. The boy’s injuries and the driver’s injuries were reportedly minor. Neither has been identified at this time.

It does not appear the driver of the car was injured. Reports did not say whether any passengers were riding in the car at the time of the crash. The driver has not been identified, but police reported issuing several citations to this person. Officers did not list the citations.

The Woodstock Police Department’s investigation of the crash is still ongoing. No additional details have been released at this time.
