Officials Identify Men Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Tuscaloosa, Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, AL. – According to an online news story published at, officials in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, have identified the two men killed January 12 in a multi-vehicle crash. The other people injured in the crash have still not been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.*

Sometime on January 12, four vehicles were involved in a wreck in Tuscaloosa. It is still not clear what time the crash happened or on what street the crash took place. Authorities said a Ford F-150, a Ford Mustang, and two other vehicles (makes and models not reported) were involved in the wreck. It is not clear what caused the crash. 

Lt. Teena Richardson, spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said officers responding to the accident were able to smell alcohol inside the F-150. Officers also recovered a bottle of vodka from between the legs of the driver of the F-150 at the scene of the accident. 

The drivers of the F-150 and the Mustang died in the wreck, according to officers. Officials have now identified them as 33-year-old Wesley Worsham, of Knoxville, Tennessee (F-150 driver) and 29-year-old Demetris Sterling Johnson, of Tuscaloosa (Mustang driver). 

No one in the other two vehicles has been identified, and it is not clear if they were injured. The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation and have not been reported. Because of the alcohol found at the scene, officers are investigating the possibility that Worsham was driving under the influence. 

Tuscaloosa Police are still reviewing the crash and have not yet released additional information to the public.
