Tractor-Trailer, Motorcycle Collide in Montgomery, Alabama

MONTGOMERY, AL. – According to an online news report from, a tractor-trailer and a motorcycle collided in Montgomery, Alabama. Police have not yet determined the cause of the crash, which occurred on a U.S. highway, but officials reported that one person was seriously injured.*

The crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. Highway 31 and Hunter Loop Road in Montgomery. The Montgomery Police Department reports that a tractor-trailer and a motorcycle somehow crashed into each other at the intersection. The make and model of the motorcycle was not reported, nor were those of the tractor-trailer. Officers did not indicate which direction each vehicle was traveling or how the vehicles came to collide at the intersection. 

No cause for the crash has yet been reported. Officers have not yet provided potential factors that might have contributed to the wreck, as they are continuing to investigate. Montgomery Police and Montgomery Fire Medics responded to the scene, and medics transported one person away from the scene to a local hospital with serious injuries. This person has not been identified, and it is not clear where he or she was hospitalized. His or her current medical condition is not known.

Officials did not indicate how many total people were involved in the accident, and no names have been released. Photos from the scene show the tractor-trailer stopped across all lanes of the roadway, with the motorcycle turned on its side on the ground next to the left front wheel of the cab. 

Sgt. David Hicks, of the Montgomery Police Department spoke with reporters after the crash and stated the investigation is ongoing. No additional information about the crash has been released at this time.
