January 12, 2019

DULUTH, GA. – According to an online news report from patch.com, police are searching for a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash at a Duluth, Georgia, gas station.*

Police in unincorporated Duluth responded to a gas station located at 2001 Pleasant Hill Road on a call about a person hit by a car. It appears an unidentified woman in her 20s entered the gas station store and paid for gas and other merchandise. She then exited the store and had an altercation with two women next to her at the gas pumps.

The female suspect got in her vehicle and tried to leave, and the other two women attempted to open her car door. She started to drive away, and one of the women got in front of her car and blocked her. The women then opened the suspect’s car door, and a physical altercation ensued. The suspect backed up and hit one of the women with the car’s open door. That woman, described as around age 50, fell to the ground, and the suspect ran over her with the car.

The suspect then fled the scene. Two potential witnesses to the incident also left the scene. The woman struck by the car was transported to a local hospital, where she later died of her injuries.

Police are searching for the missing female suspect and are asking for the public’s help in locating her. She is described as light-skinned with brown hair. On the night of the incident, the woman was wearing her hair in a large bun and was wearing a Nike hoodie, matching sweatpants, and a dark jacket.
