According to recent reports, head-on vehicle collisions make up a small percentage of all the traffic accidents that occur every year in the United States. However, they account for a significant percentage of annual fatal collisions in the country. Only 2 percent of all annual U.S. traffic collisions involve head-on collisions, but they cause about 10 percent of annual crash-related deaths in the nation. The impact angle and force of these crashes causes them to be more fatal and lead to more serious injuries than other kinds of traffic collisions.
