Five Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Miami Gardens, Florida
MIAMI GARDENS, FL. – As reported online by local10.com, five people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident in Miami Gardens, Florida. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.*
The crash occurred on Northwest 199th Street and 37th Avenue in Miami Gardens. Several cars collided, but it is not clear how many cars were ultimately involved. No information about the cause of the crash or the nature of the crash was reported. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said two people had to be extricated from vehicles at the scene.
Two people were airlifted from the scene to a nearby hospital. It is not clear if these were the same two people who were extricated by fire officials. One other person was transported to a local hospital via ambulance. Two others were treated at the scene for minor injuries. No one involved has been identified, and current medical conditions have not been reported.
Authorities are still investigating the crash and have not released additional information at this time.

Almost 250,000 injuries resulted from these crashes, as well as nearly 3,000 deaths. Miami and Broward counties in Florida had the highest number of vehicle accidents.
In 2017, more than 40,000 vehicle accidents occurred in Broward County. More than 63,000 crashes occurred in Miami County in the same year. Many of the accidents can be attributed to inclement weather, distracted driving, and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
