School Bus Collides with Car in Mitchell County, Georgia

MITCHELL COUNTY, GA. – A school bus collided with a car in Mitchell County, Georgia, according to an online news story from walb.com. It does not appear anyone was injured in the accident.*

A car and a Mitchell County School System bus somehow collided on Old Ga. 3 South, near River Road in Mitchell County. It is not yet clear how the crash occurred. No information was reported about the other vehicle. The bus was reportedly damaged during the crash, but it is not clear how much damage the bus sustained.

The Mitchell County School System said two students were on the bus at the time, and they were not injured. Another bus came to the scene to transport the children away from the scene. The bus driver was also not injured, according to the school system. The driver has not been identified, and it is not clear what school the two students attended. 

It is not known how many people were in the car, but it does not appear anyone in the car was injured either. No additional information has been reported at this time. 

This was the second crash between a Georgia school bus and a car in two days. On the afternoon of December 5, an SUV collided with a school bus carrying 56 students from Gould Elementary School. Police are not yet sure what caused the crash, but it occurred at the intersection of Salt Creek Road and Pineland Drive in Garden City. 

After impact, the SUV ran off the road and overturned in a ditch. Five people were inside the vehicle, including an infant. No one in the SUV or in the bus was seriously injured.
