Man Killed in Head-On Collision with Tractor-Trailer in Arkansas

JONESBORO, AR. – According to an online news report from, a man was killed in a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer in Jonesboro, Arkansas.*

At approximately 3:45 p.m., 41-year-old Charles B. Mosley, of Marmaduke, Arkansas, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on East Highland Drive in Jonesboro. For unknown reasons, Mosley lost control of the vehicle and crossed over the middle turn lane, striking an eastbound tractor-trailer head-on. The Chevy rotated back into the westbound lanes after impact and collided with a third vehicle. 

Mosley died at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer, 41-year-old Brad Talcott, of Lake Dallas, Texas, was injured, but the extent of his injuries was not reported. It is not clear if he was transported anywhere for treatment. No information was released about the make or model of the third vehicle, and the driver of that vehicle has not been identified. It is not clear whether that driver was injured. 

Arkansas State Police are investigating the crash and have not yet identified a cause. They said weather conditions were clear, and the roadway was dry at the time. No additional information has been reported at this time. 

Preliminary figures for Arkansas vehicle crashes indicate more than 450 people have been killed in accidents in the state so far in 2018. The state’s road fatality rates in 2016, according to data from Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, were higher than national averages. Data for Arkansas shows 18.2 deaths in 2016 per every 100,000 people and 1.51 deaths per every 100 million miles traveled.
