One Dead, One Airlifted After Head-On Crash in Lyons, Georgia
LYONS, GA. – One person is dead, and one person has been airlifted to a hospital, after a head-on vehicle crash in Lyons, Georgia, according to an online news report from wtoc.com. Little information has been reported about the accident at this time.*
Officials say two vehicles crashed head-on on Highway 292 in Lyons, and a pileup ensued after that. It is not clear how many vehicles were ultimately involved. Makes and models of vehicles were not reported.
At least one person died, and one person was flown to Savannah, Georgia, for treatment. The extent of the airlifted person’s injuries was not reported. Neither of the victims has been identified. It is not immediately clear if anyone else was injured.
A cause for the crash was not reported, and authorities did not indicate if one driver was at fault or whether any charges might be filed. Georgia State Patrol is handling the crash investigation and has not yet released additional information to the public.
