Alabama Teenager Dies from Injuries Sustained in November Vehicle Wreck
LEE COUNTY, AL. – An Alabama teenager has died from injuries he sustained in a vehicle wreck in Lee County, Alabama, according to an online news report from wsfa.com. The circumstances of the crash are still not completely clear.*
Alabama State Troopers responded to a call about a two-vehicle crash on Lee Road 374. They received information that one of the vehicles had left the scene and had a vehicle description for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma. They located a vehicle that matched the description and tried to speak to the driver. The driver then fled, and Troopers lost sight of his truck. They did not pursue the truck.
Moments later, the driver of the truck crashed on Lee Road 270. The driver has been identified as 19-year-old Case Robert Hoiness, of Valley, Alabama. Hoiness was transported to a hospital in Atlanta with critical injuries. On December 12, he died from those injuries. The Lee County Coroner’s Office reports the cause of death as complications from multiple blunt force impact injuries.
It is not clear whether the original crash involved another vehicle, or if there was no crash before Troopers arrived. No additional vehicles were involved in the crash that injured Hoiness on Lee Road 270. It is not clear how this crash occurred. It appears Hoiness somehow lost control of the truck, and the truck left the roadway and overturned several times.
The accident is still under investigation by Alabama authorities and the Lee County Coroner’s Office. No additional information about the incident has been reported at this time.
