Plane Crashes at Kennesaw State University Campus in Georgia

KENNESAW, GA. – According to an online news report from, a small plane crashed on the Kennesaw State University Campus near Atlanta, Georgia. Two passengers were in the plane and survived the crash.*

The plane was carrying two people from Omaha, Nebraska, and crashed at the intersection of Campus Look Road and Bartow Avenue on the Kennesaw campus. The Cobb County Police Department and the Cobb County Fire Department responded to the scene and extricated two occupants from the plane. They were both conscious and alert and were transported to a nearby hospital. 

The two occupants of the plane have not been identified, and the extent of their injuries is not known. There were no injuries to anyone on the campus, and no campus buildings were damaged during the crash. It is not completely clear what caused the plane to crash, but Cobb County fire officials said there aircraft experienced an engine failure. Video from the scene shows the plane hitting a tree. Investigation into the crash is ongoing. 

This is one of several plane crashes to occur in Georgia recently. The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of a small plane crash at the Pickens County Airport. The plane appeared to have lost control during landing and crashed into another plane that was parked on the runway. The plane then continued on, veered off the runway, and struck three vehicles near an airport garage. 

Two people inside the plane suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office, and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. They have not been identified.
