Pennsylvania Three-Vehicle Wreck Results in One Death

December 18, 2018

YORK COUNTY, PA. – A three-vehicle wreck in York County, Pennsylvania, resulted in the death of one person, according to an online news report from pennlive.com. Little is known about the circumstances of the crash at this time.*

The crash occurred on U.S. 15 in Carroll Township, York County. At the intersection of U.S. 15 North and Golf Course Road, three vehicles somehow collided. The wreck included at least one passenger car and one truck, but no information was reported about the third vehicle. The cause of the crash is not yet known.

York County Coroner Pam Gay said her office was called to the scene on a report of at least one fatality. Gay said the victim was a woman who was driving a car that collided with a truck. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She has not been identified at this time, as officials are continuing to notify next-of-kin. Gay said her office had not currently ruled on the cause or manner of the woman’s death, and an autopsy was scheduled to take place at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Gay said another woman and a child had been transported away from the scene with injuries before the Coroner’s Office arrived. Gay did not have information about their conditions. No additional information about the wreck has been released at this time.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation shows that the crash shut down all lanes of travel on U.S. 15 between the intersections of Clymers Park, Michael Sunday, and Glenwood Road in Franklin Township and Golf Course Road, End Road. The closures remained in place for more than six hours while crews investigated and cleared the scene. The road reopened in all areas around 8:45 p.m. that day.
