Two Killed in Head-On Crash in Jackson County, Georgia
JACKSON COUNTY, GA. – According to an online news report from ajc.com, a head-on vehicle crash in Jackson County, Georgia, killed two people. The driver of one of the vehicles was traveling the wrong way on Interstate 85.*
The crash occurred on I-85 in Jackson County. A 2005 Ford Mustang was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the interstate and struck a 2006 Honda Civic head-on. Both drivers died at the scene. No passengers were in either vehicle.
The driver of the Ford has been identified as 32-year-old Carlos Cobb, of Gainesville, Georgia. The identity of the driver of the Honda has not yet been released, pending notification to the victim’s family by county officials.
It is not yet clear why Cobb was driving in the wrong lanes of the interstate. No information was reported about whether a toxicology analysis would be conducted. Georgia State Patrol is investigating the collision and has not released additional information at this time.
