Head-on vehicle collisions represent a small number of the accidents that occur every year in the United States, but they account for a larger percentage of traffic deaths in the country. About 2 percent of all the accidents in the U.S. involve head-on collisions, but these types of accidents cause approximately 10 percent of the nation’s crash-related deaths. Because of the force and nature of these accidents, they lead to more serious injuries and more deaths than many other types of vehicle accidents.
