DeKalb County Family Still Searching for Drivers Responsible for Man’s Death

December 08, 2018

DEKALB COUNTY, GA. – According to an online news report from, a DeKalb County, Georgia, family is still searching for the drivers responsible for the death of a 21-year-old man. The young man was run over and killed in mid-October.*

At approximately 10 p.m. on October 14, 21-year-old Devin Eason, of DeKalb County, was riding a green and black motorcycle along River Road. He reportedly fell off the bike and was subsequently struck by several vehicles. None of the drivers stopped or called 911. Eason died from his injuries.

Police are still searching for the drivers of the vehicles that hit Eason. Investigators say they are certain the drivers knew they hit someone, but no one has come forward. Eason’s family is continuing to search for answers, as well, especially after Thanksgiving — their first holiday without Eason.

“It’s been very hard because Devin was a big part of our family and a big part of my life,” said Eason’s mother, Lauri Eason. “This has been awful. I never expected anything like this to happen.”

Eason was the son of a DeKalb County Police officer and had a son of his own, now 5 months old. Friends of the family posted a large sign near the site of the accident on River Road that reads “Justice for Devin.” They hope the sign will grab someone’s attention and encourage either a confession or the sharing of information.

DeKalb County Police are asking anyone with information to contact the DeKalb County Police Department. Information can also be called in anonymously to Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-TIPS.
