December 07, 2018

MANVEL, ND. – According to an online news report from fox11online.com, a North Dakota family of four has reportedly been found dead from an apparent vehicle crash. The family had been missing since the day after Thanksgiving.*

Law enforcement officers in Idaho, Montana, and North Dakota posted alerts for four people, after they were reported missing by family members. The family of four was traveling from Caldwell, Idaho, to Ekalaka, Montana, for Thanksgiving and did not arrive as expected to a relative’s house. They were supposed to arrive in Ekalaka the morning of Thanksgiving Day but went missing somewhere between the two points. The family was later discovered deceased from an apparent vehicle accident near Billings, Montana.

Anthony James “AJ” Dean, 25, was a Staff Sergeant with the United States Air Force and was assigned to the Grand Forks Air Force Based as an RQ-4 Global Hawk crew chief. Chelsi Dean, 25, was a member of the Manvel, North Dakota, Volunteer Fire Department. The Deans had been traveling on Interstate 94 with their two young children, ages 5 and 1, when their vehicle reportedly ran off the road and into a creek.

The cause of the crash is still unknown. Montana Highway Patrol and local authorities are investigating and have not yet released additional information.

“Words are not enough during a time like this,” said Maj. Eric Inkenbrandt, 69th Maintenance Squadron commander. “AJ’s family brought a light to our maintenance community, and this loss strikes each of us deeply. May their friends and family be granted the strength and serenity to get through this sorrowful time.”
