BRADLEY COUNTY, TN. – According to an online news report from wrcbtv.com, a woman from Georgia was killed in a vehicle crash that occurred in Bradley County, Tennessee.*

The crash occurred at approximately 5 p.m. in the 5000 block of Dalton Pike in Bradley County, Tennessee. Tennessee State Troopers report that the driver of a Ford Explorer traveling north on Dalton Pike swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle and lost control. The Explorer flipped and struck a southbound Jeep near Red Hill Valley Road.

The driver of the Jeep, 33-year-old Marla Teresa Boyd, of Cohutta, Georgia, tragically died in the crash. Two other people were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. It appears these people might have been passengers in the Jeep, but this information has not been confirmed. They have not been identified.

The driver of the Explorer has also not been identified. It is not clear why the Explorer was about to hit another vehicle when it swerved. Dalton Pike was closed in both directions after the accident to allow crews to investigate and clear the scene. Tennessee authorities are continuing to investigate the crash and have not yet released additional information.
