Safety Recalls Issued by Ford Motor Company

December 05, 2018

USA- writes that Ford Motor Company is issuing four safety-related recalls on vehicles that were sold in the United States. About 160 Ford Explorers were recalled because of issues with their fuel pressure sensors. The systems were not properly assembled, creating a risk of leaking fuel which could lead to fires.*

People impacted by the recall can bring their vehicle to their dealer to have the vehicle’s fuel line reassembled at no cost. There have been no reports of accidents, fires, or injuries related to the issue.

The recall applies to 2018 models which were manufacturers at the company’s assembling plant in Chicago.

The company issued another recall, which applies to 2019 Ford Super Duty vehicles whose transmission casings are possibly missing a component. The issue could lead to vehicles moving while they are in park, potentially leading to injuries. Models of the FordSuper Duty that were manufactured in the Kentucky Truck Plant are subject to this recall. The repairs will be completed at no cost to consumers.

Ford also recalled some of its 2018 Ford Expedition and 2018 Lincoln Navigators because some of them are missing J-channel brackets.

The recall impacts about 38,000 vehicles. The missing brackets are in the vehicle second row. If a bench is missing one or both of the brackets, then the seat may not be properly restrained in the event of a collision. The recall could lead to injuries. The recall applies to vehicles assembled in Kentucky.

Ford is not aware of any injury reports related to the missing brackets.

Finally, Ford issued a recall of some of the company’s 2019 Lincoln Nautiluses. About 271 vehicles defective airbags which have covers that could separate when the airbags deploy. The defect could cause injuries.
