November 22, 2018

MARION COUNTY, FL. – November 1, 2018 - As reported online by ocala.com, a Florida motorcyclist is in critical condition after a vehicle wreck October 29 in Marion County, Florida. The driver involved was arrested and charged in connection with the accident and with violation of probation related to past charges in Georgia.*

On the morning of October 29, 20-year-old Rayan Massini Vazquez, of Ocala, Florida, was riding a 2015 Honda CRV 300 motorcycle eastbound on State Road 200 in Marion County. In the 1200 block of State Road 200, a 2004 Buick Le Sabre either attempted to make a U-turn or changed lanes and crossed into the path of Vazquez’s motorcycle. The two vehicles collided.

Vazquez was transported to UF Health Shands in Gainesville, Florida, with critical injuries. His brother reported that he was in stable condition, but his injuries were still serious.

Witnesses told police officers at the scene that 39-year-old Pambela Carter, of Anthony, Florida, got out of the Buick after the crash and walked away. Officers learned she had walked to her job, which was located nearby. Carter told police a man had been driving her to work and did not know where he was going. Witnesses, however, said they did not see a man exit the vehicle - only Carter.

Carter was placed under arrest and is being held in the Marion County Jail without bond. She is charged with violating probation for uttering forged checks in Georgia and has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury and driving with a revoked or suspended license. According to Carter’s arrest record, this is the ninth time she has been charged for driving with a revoked or suspended license.
