20-Vehicle Collision Shuts Down South Carolina Bridge
CHARLESTON, SC. – November 6, 2018 - A collision involving roughly 20 vehicles shut down a bridge in South Carolina on November 5, according to an online news report from wjbf.com.*
The crash reportedly occurred during rush hour on November 5, near a bridge leading into downtown Charleston, South Carolina. Officials believe the crash might have been caused by a vehicle driving into an opposing lane. About 20 vehicles were involved in the crash in total, and police said several people were injured. The exact number of people and vehicles involved has not been confirmed. Officials said they did not believe anyone sustained life-threatening injuries. None of the victims has been identified.
The bridge was closed in both directions for about three hours while crews investigated and cleared the scene. The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating and has not released additional information at this time.
