Two Men Injured in Woodstock Plane Crash on November 4, 2018

November 08, 2018

WOODSTOCK, GA. – November 4, 2018 (patch.com) According to an online news report from patch.com, two men were injured November 4 in a plane crash that occurred in Woodstock, Georgia.*

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office reports a small plane crashed upon takeoff at approximately 10 a.m. on November 4, 2018 at Air Acres. Air Acres is a private runway located along Arnold Mill Road, near Arnold Mill Elementary School. It is not yet clear how the accident occurred.

The pilot and one passenger were on board the plane, and both were transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital. They reportedly suffered minor injuries. Their names have not been released.

This is one of several small plane crashes to occur in Georgia this year. Last month, a pilot was killed in a plane crash in Paulding County, Georgia. A single-engine plane was reportedly flying from Gainesville, Florida, to Calhoun, Georgia, and crashed on Lucas Lane in Paulding County, near the Bartow County line. The crash occurred in the afternoon of October 13, and the pilot, 70-year-old Paul Lewis Deep, of Middleburg, Florida, was the only person on board the plane when it crashed.

It is still not clear how this crash occurred. The Paulding County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call about damage to the large transmission power lines that come from Plant Bowen. A deputy went to the scene and did not see anything amiss besides the damaged power lines. When Georgia Power responded, they searched the heavily wooded area on an ATV and discovered the crashed aircraft.
