COLUMBIA COUNTY, GA. – October 30, 2018 (augustachronicle.com) According to an online news story from augustchronicle.com, authorities in Columbia County, Georgia, are still investigating a semi-truck collision that occurred October 29 on Georgia Highway 232.*

At approximately 8 p.m. on October 29, a Toyota Tundra pickup truck was traveling westbound on Ga. 232 in Columbia County. A semi-truck traveling in the same direction suddenly pulled into the Tundra’s lane, and the two vehicles collided. The Tundra crashed into the middle section of the semi’s trailer and became lodged underneath it.

The driver of the Tundra, who has not been identified, was transported to Doctor’s Hospital with serious injuries. He is reportedly in stable condition, but his injuries are still serious. The driver of the semi-truck, Fredderico Dandre Daniels (age and city not reported), was not injured. Daniels said he did not see the Tundra because trees on the side of the highway were obstructing his view.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating and says charges against Daniels are pending. No additional information has been reported at this time. The accident blocked the westbound lanes of Ga. 232 for nearly three hours.

According to the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, Columbia County has seen a large jump in vehicle accidents during the last several years.
